i18n problems upon database transtion

I tried move my blog to a hosting server (copy files, export/import db, etc.) and run into a problem. It works, but I see question marks instead of russian symbols. Of course, it all worked fine on my devel machine.

Most strangely, in phpMyAdmin I can see post content in russian just fine. Therefore db must be ok – may be something with php/wordpress. That’s why I ask here.

software version: mysql 4.1.10-standard, php 4.3.10, wordpress 1.5

Please help.
