I would recommend this plugin

  • When I first installed I did have a problem initially, but not only did Smush respond quickly when I reported it, it was already in the pipeline to be fixed. A day or so later the bug was squashed.

    Quite easy to use, even using the free version seems to work very well. I can see benefit for the paid plugin, but the free version is absolutely fine if your site isn’t huge and/or doesn’t get updated often.

    Using this plugin together with a caching plugin has defnitely improved the loading time of my website.
