• I wonder, how websites like https://wpsec.com can find the themes and plugins which I am using in mysite.
When I tried to access the directory mydomain.com/wp-content/themes/my-theme , I got 404 but how do they get this.
Are my firewalls and security malewares are useless?

  • By looking at your HTML source code, which is public. Your style.css probably contains the name of your theme, and various of your plugins will output scripts into the head which will provide the name of the plugin.

Yes, I agree with @aljuk, most of the things are open for all. You can open your site and use Ctrl+U and you can see the source code of your site. Now use Ctrl +F to find, and write “plugins/” there and it will show the plugins there. You can use the same for “themes/” to see your theme.

This has nothing to do with your firewall and security. Access to your theme is not a security issue. Life is good.
