I was lock out of my site!

    Hi,

    I have just installed iThemes Security into my wordpress site. I was setting up carefully all the different options: hide login & admin (wp-admin by wpadmin); away mode (12 -5am), save the settings and now early in the moring I try to login again to my site and a 404 message appear in my screen. I have no idea why I have been locked out to access my site.

    I have sent a message to iThemes Security with hope that they can solve this issue and I will appreciate if they tell me if I have done something wrong or the reason of the lockout.

    I am looking forward to hearing back from them soon.

    Just kill the plugin. FTP into your site, then navigate to wp-content/plugins and rename or delete the iThemes folder. That should “undo” the iThemes installation till you get your answer from iThemes. ??

    Thanks, I had the same problem. Odd, I didn’t login like since december…
    Problem is, if I activate it again, it forbids me again to enter the admin panel.

    I ended up going into phpmyadmin and deleting the lines of me being banned but it just keeps banning me over & over…
