I want to re-do a live site in WP

  • Hello, everyone,
    I’m glad to be here and meet you all because I’m going to be needing you a lot!

    My first question is: I already have a live website made old style, but I want to re-do it in WordPress. However, I don’t want to take it off ‘the air’ while I do it, but I don’t know how I can install WP on the server without affecting the present website. Can I do it or do I have to install it in a local host before I upload it? I host with Bluehost.

    I am very new at WP… and at almost everything website related, so try to not be too technical, please?

  • Install WP in a subdirectory. When it is working to your satisfaction you can move it (if you want to) to the root. There is documentation about all of this.
