I want to limit the length of the post to first para in FB share

    hello,
    When the publicize shares a post from my website to Facebook, it some times gives the entire post. I normally post short poems or posts with 2-3 paragraphs. When jetpack gives all of the paras there, people don’t visit my website, they read it in the FB and post comments there.
    So can someone tell me how to limit the number of words that appear in a FB post while shared using jetpack publicize.

    So can someone tell me how to limit the number of words that appear in a FB post while shared using jetpack publicize.

    You can set your own custom Publicize message that will appear instead of the excerpt by clicking on the Publicize details link appearing right above the Publish button in your post editor. There, you’ll be able to set a custom message. Once you hit Publish, that custom message will be sent to Facebook along with the post link.

    Does anyone know if there’s another option of limiting the amount of characters on Facebook?

    We publish around 10 posts on Facebook on a daily basis and it’s a bit of a hassle to manually set a custom message for each and every post.

    Since Facebook fetches URL+image+short description from the URL itself – shouldn’t there be an option to disable sending a description with every post all together?

    I would at least like to be able to limit the amount of characters to maybe half of the current amount.

    I would also very much like to remove the [X more words] tag – it doesn’t really serve a purpose for the reader to know the remaining amount of words in each article. It does at least seem very strange to me ??

    @eventorism There is no such option right now, but we’ve been considering adding more options allowing you to customize the messages sent out to Facebook.
