• Hello,

I recently moved my wordpress script to a sub-domain (called: /blog) but then I could not access the site? So I decided to just install wordpress manually into a sub-domain and when I was all set I went to do that final step which was activating it. But then I receive an error message –
    “Already Installed

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.”

I DO NOT WANT TO DELETE MY OLD DB! I HAVE OVER 7,000 POST!

Is there any suggestions? Thank you!

    Best Regards,
    Joe

  • When you moved it the first time, you should have gone into the database and changed “siteurl” and “home” in the options table to the new address. There is a tutorial on this site that explains how to move it safely…

    Read and follow steps

Btw, back up your database and files ??

Thanks you two! I really, really, really, really! (lol) appreciate the help! I had to move the files back to the root then I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm ??
