I tried to manually upgrade and killed my website.

  • I had trouble upgrading to 2.8 so I just let it be. Then I tried upgrading to 2.8.1 and had the same problem. I decided to manually upgrade. I deleted the WP-Admin and WP-Includes files and replaced them. Now, my site is down and I can’t access the admin screen either. I didn’t touch my wp-content file, so I’m hopeful that something can be salvaged.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m freaking out!

    I deleted everything but my content folder. Downloaded the new 2.8.1. Replaced my content folder. Uploaded everything. When I try to install wordpress, I get this error:

    Fatal error: Class wp_widget_pages: Cannot inherit from undefined class wp_widget in /homepages/24/d221003236/htdocs/zacparsons/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 15

    Does this help at all?
