• and now my account is moderated status, as if I’m the spammer, yet an actual plugin is directly associated with persistent brute force login attacks on my network and websites around the globe. This is very unethical, as it aids/abets cyber security problems. If you don’t understand post, the ethical thing to do: contact the person, ask for clarity.

but it’s clear you don’t have time for that, so keymaster arbitrarily “restricts” activity, while furthering a cyber security problem.

also, because the plugin is a public safety issue for all Word Press users, given my work ethic, I would have followed up w/ person directly as it affects your products.

but thanks for letting me that I should just refer all cyber security issues to law enforcement first, as this was/is a serious and still on-going problem.

    Hiya @tamramc,

Marius here, one of the moderators here at www.remarpro.com

Your account was flagged, requiring one of our volunteer mods to approve it before it becomes publicly posted, because you kept writing up posts which were not support related, but rather blog-post-like, and would be better served on your own personal site.

I see that you’ve also named a site which was unlucky enough to have a compromised system, including contact details of individuals who may or may not have a relation to said site, this isn’t OK either as you do not have permission to share other users contact information (and our support guidelines do not allow the sharing any details for off-site contact between regular members either).

In each case where a post was withdrawn from the public (archived, the history is retained for just such a scenario as this), you were notified of why this was done.

Your actions so far were to create a new account to avoid our account flag, and our guidelines also do not allow the creation of multiple accounts, as it is often used for abuse.

I understand that you have the best of intentions at heart, and only want to inform and educate the wider community, but the way to do so is to post about it on your site, share it on the social media platform of your choice and take it from there.

As for the account flag, right now it is appropriate, as you’ve demonstrated that you will not adhere to our guidelines or the warnings of our moderators. As such it will remain for the time being, but just keep making contributions that follow what is expected here on the forums and it’ll be lifted as soon as possible, with every reply the team re-evaluates these flags.

Topics like this (unfortunately) often devolve into others piling on with positive or negative feelings towards either side of the party, as such we do not allow them to remain open for further replies. But if you should have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to reach out to the moderators in the #forums channel on Slack (a Slack account is required)
