I think this plugin did more harm than good…
-
Hello,
Upon installing this plugin, I was quite happy with it. It functioned like I thought it would from the images I saw.
The issue came after I had to update my past forms. A few issues occurred.
– My checkbox fields disappeared
– My textarea fields are 1/3 (in width) of the size that they should beIs there any fix to this? Maybe there is CSS stored somewhere that is making my forms do some weird stuff? I tried to build out a new form and the same issue happened.
Thanks in advance!

what do you mean by update past forms? This plugin should not forms designed using the default CF7 editor.
If you wish to leverage the grid editor and form layout, you need to create a new form.
I tried to build out a new form and the same issue happened.
then it is an issue with your theme that is causing problems. Try to switch theme to a default WordPress twentytwenty for example and see if you are facing the same problem.

When I downloaded your plugin, all my forms printed an error (“Form is depreciated. Please contact your webmaster…” or something like that). I went into my CF7 editor and clicked update. The form displayed now, but then the issues with the text area and certain text fields now happen.

I switched my theme (OceanWP) to WordPress’s Twenty Twenty-One theme. The issue has not resolved itself by doing so.
Thank you in advance for your further assistance.

bummer! Thanks for reporting this. This is bug which I will fix in the next release.

can you show me your website page with the forms?

Great!

The form where I first saw the issue is at: https://brendonconnett.com/request-quote/ .
Please note, you must select one of the services to open the conditional field (which is where the issue lives). Under “Specifically, what are you looking for?” there should be an input (I used [label for=””] because it is a checkbox input). In addition, the textarea under “Additional Information” is 1/3 of the size that I want it to be.

got it! I have an inkling as to what might be causing this. I will run a few tests on get back to you.
In the mean time, be aware that ther is a simple (and maybe clearner) way to solve this conditional form requirement using the Smart grid’s conditional toggle construct. (see this tutorial)

Great! I look forward to hearing your suggestion.

For now, I think I am going to stick with my current set-up for conditional requirements. I need to squash the current problem before addressing another.
In addition…
I downloaded a cost calculator plugin that has worked like a charm. I finally got it to look how I wanted it to look and after downloading this plugin, the cost-calculator plugin has had issues as well. Honestly, the more I look around my website, the more issues I see. I hope to resolve this soon.

Thanks for looking into this.
Additional thought: The cost calculator plugin has a similar set-up as your plugin, but it just specializes in numbers and math. As far as I know, I don’t have access to the HTML for this plugin.
