I am using WP v.3.5.1. I was stupid to give my WP Admin login & password to a developer for some help. Ever since I gave it to him when I am in my WP Admin I get an extremely slow connecting time to change to another page with waiting for site name at bottom appearing. I am getting 500 Internal Server Error. My Hosting Site said he may have changed something in the Dashboard. Does anyone know how to see if he made any changes in my WP Admin? Thanks.

  • There is absolutely no way to determine what your developer changed (if he changed anything at all). It’s not stupid to provide your developer with a full admin login (although you should create a new one and not give them yours) as s/he may need this level of access to carry out the work needed on your site.

What did you employ this developer to change on your site? Also try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. and error 500 message is too generic to be of any use. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

    Thanks esmi –
I believe I found the problem. I was trying to run some PHP and when I deleted that it seems to be working ok now, so I don’t think it was the developer’s fault. I did create a WP User for him with Admin level, however when I try to log in with his user name and password I created, all that comes up is a blank page. Not my WP Admin site. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for your help.

What happens if you try to create a completely new admin user and login as that user?

Thanks esmi – I have determined the problem was with my host. They had a major outage for two days. Thank you so much for responding here.
