I think it’s the best!

In my opinion, CookieBot is the best service you can possibly have to make your website GDPR compliant regarding cookies.

Why?

Because it will scan your entire website and list all the cookies you use. This is extremely useful!

Next, you have to activate prior consent, which means the cookies will not be installed on people’s devices until they consent.

I was able to block Analytics, Adsense, and Youtube cookies thanks to the codes provided by Cookiebot. it’s possible to add a script to block other cookies as well.

Another great feature is the cookie declaration that you can install in your cookie policy page. A script will include a table with all the cookies identified by the scanning and a brief explanation of why it’s used. You can edit as well.

In my opinion, COokiebot should include a floating banner/button so that people can easily find the link to opt-out. At the moment there is only a script to activate the banner again, and it’s up to you to make this option visible.

In my case, I included the script on a floating ribbon at the top as I don’t know how to add it to the menu.

There are other services in the market and I tested many of them. One of the best ones (I think I can’t mention the name) bock the website until people consent but I think that is not a good approach as you will lose visitors. Besides, it doesn’t scan your site, so you have to manually search cookies page by page!

Cookiebot is the one that worked for me. So, I’m willing to pay the price for peace of mind.
