Oh, I just thought of another bit that may be relevant. I am running this multisite off the Bitnami multisite stack. I thought maybe something that is included or the way MySQL is configured may be interfering.

I thought that the selected character set might also be storing the JSON in a corrupted form. Think that could be possible?

Interesting. Do you know what character set the WordPress MySQL DB is setup for?

From my.cnf in the bitnami MySql directory that came with my multisite stack.

character-set-server=UTF8

Thanks for checking back in! We’re still stuck on needing to see a video of the problem, as we’ve not been able to reproduce the error in house. Sorry to push back on you, but maybe you have a solution that will work for you to record your screen and get it to us some how?

Great news! I hope the mystery can be solved. We are still using Decision Tree for one of our client sites. It has not developed the “illness”, but it will make me feel better to see it resolved. ??
