I think I really screwed up

I have wordpress installed in a subdirectory called “blog” and have been trying to determine how to remove https://www.site.com/BLOG/page from the URL structure.

I ran across a few threads on managing multisites, but this did not appear to be the right path as I got into the support content on WP.org. So, idiot that I am, I removed “blog” from the WordPress URL on the general settings page. Now, logging in resolves to the parent domain.

Yes, dumb. Is there a resolution that doesn’t involve blowing up the current installation?
