• I have a website with 25K+ files and growing each day. Each post/file is very large (for example, multi-page U.S. Supreme Court cases).

Initially, I was using Swiftype under their $19.99 monthly membership plan. After my website passed the 10K posts mark, however, Swiftype demanded that I upgrade my account to their $599/month plan which would increase the limit of database to 50K documents. That rate was unconscionable and I cancelled my account.

Then, I tried using Algolia, but their WordPress plugin seemed incomplete, rudimentary, and replete with errors.

Next, I “tried” BetterSearch but it could not even be activated due to the large database.

Next, I tried “Relevanssi” and, again, it failed at the initial indexing step due to the large database.

Finally, I purchased “SearchWP” and although it was able to successfully index my website, I was less than thrilled about the quality of its search results.

At that point, I gave up and decided to stick it out with WP’s default search until I was able to raise some $$ and then go back to Swiftype.

That was the plan until I came across SearchIQ.

I installed it just to try it out and didn’t have any high expectations. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise.

The website indexed with ease and the quality of the search results impressed the crap out of me! Just as one example, a search for “freedom of speech school students” returns the key Supreme Court cases on the subject of the scope of the 1st Amendment rights on school grounds (such as Tinker v. Des Moines). As you can see from the foregoing example, the search terms have nothing in common with the titles of the cases that are used as titles of the posts for WordPress. But, SearchIQ finds and analyzes the relevant text in the body of the cases and determines the cases to be relevant based on same. Simply amazing. This is something I would expect from Google, but from a FREE WP plugin?? Wow!

Kudos to the SearchIQ team! Keep up the great work, guys. And, to my fellow WP community members, let’s provide all the support we can to the SearchIQ team so that they can continue to improve their amazing product and service.
