I so wish I'd found this plugin first!
-
I spent days (literally) trying to find a slideshow plugin. I must have installed and tried out at least 10 different plugins. I didn’t need anything particularly complicated but they either didn’t work with my theme, were insanely difficult to use, weren’t at all what I had in mind visually, couldn’t handle multiple slideshows, or subscribed to the psychic school of documentation.
I didn’t realize EasyRotator would install an application on my computer until the install process. I might have passed it by if I’d known, but I’m so glad I didn’t. The installation instructions are A1 – everything that support documentation should be, and hardly ever is. They look long because they include a screenshot of every step along the way, but trust me, this is a GOOD thing. No guessing! The installation process is actually quite quick. I’m not new to WordPress, but if you are, this is definitely the slider plugin for you.
Once installed, the interface was so intuitive that I didn’t even have to look at the help. I was able to get multiple separate slideshows up and running in record time, and they were exactly what I wanted. There are a number of stylistic choices in the free version, and they are nice ones, but if you want even more, and advanced features, like video and sound, there is a pro version.
I had one problem, with the blue “Welcome” box loading at the top of every page in WordPress to tell me the program had been successfully installed. Tech support got back to me in a few hours, and with the utmost friendliness and professionalism, pointed out the completely obvious “Dismiss” link that solved the problem. They answered subsequent questions about administering multiple websites and/or using multiple computers succinctly, and even more promptly. And all of this for free!
I am so impressed, and am looking forward to using the sidebar widget on another website. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this excellent plugin and your stellar support.
