I see broken images – everyone else says the images are fine

  • This is a real Twilight Zone issue:
    On BOTH of my computers (windows desktop and macbook pro) I see broken images all over https://professionalpoolservicesinc.com. But everyone else says the images appear just fine.

    Its not a cache issue! I’ve cleared cache, rebooted, and tried Incognito windows. I’ve tried different browsers (FF, Chrome, IE8) and again this is happening on both of my computers. (Also the site does not use any type of caching plugin.) I sometimes see all images appearing when the site first loads, but if I refresh then images break. Even the stylesheet doesn’t seem to load, as most formatting is missing as well.

    I tried viewing the site through BrowserStack using various OS and browsers, but the site looks fine there. Several people have tested the site for me on their machines…I’m the only one seeing broken images.

    The issue began after a failed attempt to upgrade WP from 3.4 to 3.6. But the hosting company has restored their backup, so any files related to that upgrade would have been removed. In any case, the issue should be visible to others, not just me.

    What could be causing this?

  • Since this is specific your your computers. it’s not a WordPress issue. Perhaps it’s a local network or ISP issue?
