• I’ve gotten far enough into the installation to be able to use the control panel. All is good, except if I try to view the blog I get the following display:

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″ ?>
    – <response>
    <error>1</error>
    <message>I really need an ID for this to work.</message>
    </response>

    I’m sure there is something simple going on, but I couldn’t find the answer by searching the forum.

    Thanks!

  • That message is generated by the trackback script. It certainly shouldn’t be appearing when you access your blog normally (well, it shouldn’t even display through a trackback link in your browser). What version of WordPress are you using?

    It’s Version 1.5.1.1

    I think this was caused by some kind of file corruption. I cleared the database, downloaded a fresh copy and unzipped it, and re-uploaded… no problems this time around.
