• I noticed that in a recent update you now have a requirement to register with elementor in order to use the free block templates that have always come with the plugin.

This is nothing more then a shameless attempt at email harvesting. I find it totally objectionable. Please remove it immediately. I intend to complain to wordpress as I think this violates the spirit, if not the actual rules, of the www.remarpro.com marketplace. It should never be a requirement to register externally in order to use any facet of a free marketplace plugin.

  • Elementor’s jumping in mid stream and requiring a registration for something that was provided free and unregistered is a questionable business practice. It runs against the spirit of WordPress.

The proper way to handle this would have been to come up with a new free feature that did require registration to harvest addys.

I have had to deal with unexpected support tickets from clients confused about the change. /wagging finger .

Hi @maxcom, thank you for your feedback.

The template library feature is only being added on top of it as a service not a part of the core feature. We are no different in this regard from many other popular plugins such as WooCommerce, Jetpack and more, that offer external service on the basic features by creating a free account on their site.

Please note, this change helps us keep the copyrights of some of our proprietary assets, including stock images and designer-made visuals in a competitive world. You don’t have to connect, but you won’t be able to use the Template Library and get pre-designed pages and blocks from our library.

There is another reason why we added the connect. This option enables us to add valuable features such as ‘favorites’ and ‘recently used’ views, so you can have easy access to the templates that you really want. Connecting to the library prevents abuse and helps improve user authentication.

I hope that you will keep using Elementor Template Library and we will keep updating it with beautiful templates.

    Best,

This sounds to me like a invalid argument. I also believe its against the spirit of WordPress.

I am concerned that elementor is going to use it to advertise to users their pro products and abilities.

Something that used to work without registration now suddenly needs registration because of preventing abuse and improve authentication processes? What a joke !
