• I’m new to WordPress and am building my first web site to help out a friend of mine.

So far I think that I’ve been doing pretty well and have a site up and running. However, I could use a little advise. My friend will be making a blog entry about every week or so. He is, to put it kindly, technologically challenged. I would like to find a simple, easy to use WYSIWYG HTML editor so that he can have a little control over his posts appearance.

I would be fine with either an editor that is part of the WordPress environment or a standalone editor where we could copy and paste the HTML.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Is there a problem with the standard editor area in WordPress? That will give him some basic control over the formatting of the posts content – and more if you set up an editor stylesheet. There’s more advanced interfaces available as plugins. The only one that I know of so far, but haven’t used myself, is Ultimate TimyMCE.

Apart from that, you can always use a program like Dreamweaver (or another WYSIWYG editor) and copy-and-paste the HTML code into the post editor area.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

We’ll use the built in editor and see how far we can go with it. I took a look at the Ultimate TinyMCE and it look very nice. If needed, that will be my next step.

    Thanks again
