    Hi!
    I use the free version.

I cannot find any information in the admin area about template tags or shortcodes. It is not userfriendly, when editing a page, to leave that screen and open plugins / “visit the plugin site”

Please DO include a documentation with the next version, why not add it to the events-left menue section?

it would be such a big help

    Hi Avantart,

Thanks for the feedback! Documentation is largely kept out of the site admin to reduce clutter, particularly when documentation would largely be focussed on widgets / shortcodes / template functions – all of which will, in general, be ‘use once and forget’. Since the documentation wouldn’t be used on a day-to-day basis, I don’t think it justifies adding in the admin or as an extra menu.

However, the plug-in does use help tooltips (e.g. for some widget options) and I’ll continue to add this where I feel they are needed. Otherwise from most event pages you can access the plug-in’s documentation from the ‘Help’ tab at the top-right of the screen.

The Pro version does add a TinyMCE button to allow to more easily add shortcodes to content.

Regarding template tags – there are some many (117 currently documented) that adding them all would be very difficult and bloat the plug-in. (You can see documentation for the these here: codex.wp-event-organiser.com).

I will consider adding a section to the help tab to post/pages, listing available shortcodes and links to the shortcode documentation.

I hope that my explanation is clear!

    Stephen,

your explanation is clear, but still I am a little unsatisfied :=)

Sure you do not need these short codes on a daily basis, when the page is ready and online, but when you are developing (and a newbie) more help is very welcome. And as the EditorButton is only integrated in the PRO-Version but the other features (mostly booking) are not relevant for my client, it makes no sense for me to buy the PRO-version unfortunately.

I will try to remember the help-tab on the top and write down those shortcodes which I used already and which are working for me…

    Thanks for the good plugin!

    Cheers, Connie
