• Are you looking for a free ticket system plugin? Look no further! I just spent around 3 hours combing through some of the top picks, selected by a couple of blogs. Guess what though, neither blog even mentioned SupportCandy! Goes to show you can’t always trust those top-5 or top-10 lists.

Anyway, their free tier is just so well rounded. It offers unlimited tickets, guest ticket creation, customizable email notifications, file attachments, and best of all, an extremely robust Rest API. The API documentation could use a little flushing out, but so what? It’s free!

From what I’ve seen, their front-end interface is one of the best out there. The only one that might have it beat is JS Help Desk. But you know what? Screw those guys. While their UI is very pretty, they’re money hungry. And they don’t even offer an API or email piping with their free tier.

Speaking of email piping, that’s one thing the SupportCandy free tier doesn’t afford you. While that was disappointing at first, then I start poking their API. That’s when I realized, meh, who cares about email piping if they offer a bomb ass API. If you’re not familiar with how to interact with an API, don’t worry about it! They still offer some of the best features of all the freemium ticket system plugins.

Oh, and if you’re thinking of just going with Awesome Support, I wouldn’t. They boast themselves as the only truly free ticket system plugin, but that’s just a load crap. They are extremely driven by paid add-ons. While CandySupport does have paid add-ons as well, you don’t need them, especially if you’re just starting out.

Well, I’m done now. I normally don’t write reviews, but I’ll be damned if CandySupport didn’t just blow me out of the water! Thank you so much for you all you guys do! You rock!!!

  • I read your review and I wonder to myself, if you have actually used the system in real production environment. Did you read some of the questions and answers in this form. Who care about API unless you are a developer and if are a developer go do your own thing. Business people are looking for solutions that help them run their business not some API. Sure with API you can do integration with other systems etc. I would be very interested to see what you are going to do with API. Most likely nothing!

I paid for this plugin and all the addon and I agree it is one of the best but it has lots of features missing. It is getting better with users inputs and the development team improving it a little at a time

In life you get what you pay for. If you are that impressed with the system may be you should put your money where your mouth is and support the development team and pay for something.

    Hello guys,

Thank you very much for your reviews and suggestions. This really motivates us to keep working further on this product.

@ezblue, Thank you for your kind words. We have been working on new version 3.0 since 3-4 months. This will change the perspective about us doing little at a time. This is going to be a surprise to all users with design changes and tons of features. It may take couple of months more to get it live.

Until then, we are keeping our existing version up to date and bug free. That is the reason why new features are not coming more often as expected.

We are not going to reveal the features yet but surely it will surprise you!

    Stay safe!

@ezblue Are you serious?? lol oh wow! Is this what being trolled feels like? lol

As previously mentioned, I feel it’s okay not to be concerned about their API. But to say who would care about an API unless you’re a developer, that’s just ridiculous. First off, why would they add it if it wasn’t helpful for “business people”? (whatever that means) Secondly, to say that “business people” are interested in a solution that helps them run their business and not some API is just laughable. APIs facilitate folks running businesses all across the globe.

On to your point about what I’ll do with its API, and I’m so glad you asked. The plan is to use their API to create tickets from within an app. As I mentioned before, due to their API being as functional as it is, full ticket control will be possible, e.g., creation, closing, editing, etc. I hope my business and app take off, but if not, life will move on, and at some point, I’ll develop another WP site, except this time, I’m that much more knowledgable about what WP plugins offer, especially when it comes to ticket and support systems. Oh, and thanks for the vote of confidence btw. :\

Finally, I’d like to address your point about paying for stuff. I pay for stuff all the time. If my business takes off, even though I don’t need its paid functionality, I’ll probably give SupportCandy my money nonetheless, just because they’re so badass. That’s how dedicated a customer I can become. Or at least, that’s what my behavior has been in the past. I certainly realize that you get what you pay for. And trust me, it took a good long while to figure that out. However, given the nature of WP plugins, they must be impressive to gain traction in the first place, let alone convincing someone to pay for them.

Okay, you can resume your non-using API life now @ezblue
