• Resolved domfontana

    (@domfontana)

I searched and couldn’t find anything on topic.

I just made a new entry in my blog and now my sidebar has disappeared. There are absolutely no links to the right of my blog entries.

    Here is my blog: https://blog.fontanafirm.com

I would appreciate any help in fixing this or pointing me in the right direction where I can get help.

    Thanks.

P.S. I just fixed the problem. I wanted to delete this post, however there doesn’t appear to be an option to do so. How can you delete a post? I did change the post status to resolved.

  • You can delete a post from your admin, under manage. It’s in your /wordpress/wp-admin/ dir.

    Hi,

the same has happened to me. See http: //www. besthomebasedinternetbusinesses .com/blog

I’ve tried deleting or amending various posts but it doesn’t seem to make any difference – does anyone have any suggestions?!

    Thanks
    Jen

Your sidebar is up and working. Don’t fish for visitors!

xamox: I’m talking about deleting a post in this forum; not in my blog. How can you delete a post here?

moshu: I’m not fishing for visitors. I thought it was directed at me but samboll said you were referring to Just4Today.

I’ll walk you though it. The other day after posting a new entry, my sidebar disappeared. I couldn’t access the Admin Panel to try to fix it. I then posted the above message that started this topic to try to get some help. I then played around with a few different templates and the sidebar came back.

I then came back to this Support Forum to delete my message precisely because the problem was now fixed. I could NOT find an option to delete my message. Therefore, I posted a note saying I had fixed the sidebar problem and I asked how I could delete a message in this Support Forum. I also had the presence of mind to mark my topic as resolved.

How can I delete my own topic in this Support Forum or is it not possible to do so?

    Thank you.

    Dom – I believe Moshu’s comments were for Just4Today – not you.
    Moshu is never rude.

    samboll,

You think they were for Just4Today? Okay, I’ll take your word for it.

Like Gilda Radner used to say on Saturday Night Live, “Never Mind.”

    I’ll edit my message above.

    Thanks for the advice.

DF: yep, samboll is 100% right! (sorry, for not making it obvious; I should have addressed that post to Just4Today…)

As far I as I know, you cannot delete a post/topic – unless you are a mod. You can edit it for a while (never sure how long…) but you can’t delete it.

Okay, thanks, moshu. I appreciate it.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong topic. Feel free to delete this and I’ll repost in the correct topic.

    @ edwardmills,
Is it possible the ridiculously long iframe source is messing things up?

    Dom,
How did you fix this problem? You mentioned that you fixed it, but not how.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Yes, please let me know. I was just adding a “subscribe to email” button to the sidebar and it didn’t work properly so I removed it. I then saved the sidebar and it completely removed all the content in the sidebar.php file. I always keep a backup of the site and ftp-ed it to our server, but it keeps on automatically erasing the content in the sidebar.php file. I have no idea what is happening. Please let me know if anyone knows what to do. Thanks!

Sorry, the website address is: https://www.orangepeel.co.nz
