I lost my Key.

To get the key, you created an account at WordPress.com.

Just pop over there and log in with that account’s credentials.

Can I use the same key as I used for Akismet plugin for thte Stat. plugin?

I copied & paste the one I used from Akismet, but it didn’t work. Do I have to sign up for another one?

Ok, but it didn’t work. It worked on Akismet, but it didn’t work on my Stat.

it has red message at the top saying:
“WordPress.com Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or disable the plugin.”

Does it give you an error when you try and save it with the stats plugin? It has to be the same email address that you registered the blog (or account) with or it will not allow you to do it either.

I login with my usual “admin” username & pw from my site admin in my blog, but it didn’t work if I sign in the same credentials in “WordPress.com”.

Sigh….I’m don’t know why.

you don’t have a username of “admin” at wordpress.COM. That’s only for your own blog.

Please don’t think they’re the same or have the same credentials. They don’t.

Go to wordpress.COM. Login with your wordpress.COM user/password (hint: it won’t be admin). Go to your profile page and get your key.
