I lost my Facebook Likes after update

  • Hello!

    An hour ago I updated this plugin, as it was requested. Unfortunately, now the likes on my articles don’t show up anymore. Please do something, I don’t want to lose them (I have posts with hundreds of likes).

    The reason is probably the following: to get the Facebook counts, a “Facebook app” is required. Every Facebook app has a limit in how many counts it can retrieve per day. As all free plugin users use the same app, it can happen that the limit got reached for a specific day. If you wait for a while, the counts will probably show.

    In this plugin https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/usm-premium/ we implemented a more reliable way: there you can enter the details of your own app which you created on Facebook (it’s easy to set up), so you don’t have to share the app with others, and therefore also won’t reach the app limits.

    How much time do I have to wait? It’s been 12 hours already, and it’s still not working.

    If “As all free plugin users use the same app, it can happen that the limit got reached for a specific day” is true, then why it’s the first time this has happened to me, after installing this plugin many months ago?

    Plus, I lost all the likes after I made your update…

    Will I recover them?

    We don’t store the counts, they are received from Facebook’s APIs so they are not lost, it will start showing when we get the data from FB.

    Couldn’t locate our icons except for this https://monosnap.com/file/yUh4UdT3FPw1f4g3xCy6ao4R8kTWMR which is showing counts.

    Can I get a link where I can see the icons?
