i lose all the settings when i refresh

It’s seems that changes you made are not saved. Check browser JavaScript console if there are any JavaScript error there.
Do you see confirmation dialog window after click “Update” button?

yes i get the dialog.. and am not seeing any errors.

In very rare cases (only 2 for all these years) User Role Editor did not update its data. In those cases there was some redirect after form POST and URE did not receive needed data to update.

Are you comfortable with PHP file editing? Can you test if URE’s page receives not empty $_POST array?

Try “Members” plugin. Will it work as expected?

I tried Members and it also does the same. changes are made but never saved.

I’m having the same problem. I was trying to give the subscribers the option to edit post and it would reset everytime after saving. I tried changing the upload media for contributor and it saved perfectly. Maybe it is related to the subscriber role?

I finally got a solution to my problem. Just incase you are still in need of help @lettya, I created my own role and then made it a copy of Vendor. After that i added the capabilities that i wanted the vendor to do to that role that i created. then i made the vendor have both responsibilities. His main role as vendor and also my new custom role. And Everything worked just fine.
