I killed my blog.

You messed up the URL settings on the Options->General page. Here’s how to fix them:
https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

After you get it working, don’t mess with those again. You cannot just make up values to put in there, they must be real values.

I can’t figure out the phpMyAdmin setup. Excuse me for being new at this.

phpMyAdmin should be provided by your host as the interface to manipulate the (MySQL) database.
Check the user manual for your site’s administration.

I too suddenly can’t open my blog. It’s
https://www.starsstripesshop.com/blog (which it is exactly in site and home per my database – should they have /wordpress/ in them like the example?) When I try to open I get a blank page and this in the address bar
“https://www.starsstripesshop.com/blog/?”. I did uninstall FrontPage extensions even with the warning I’ lose .htaccess (whatever that is?) just before. Can you give any advice on what to do? Thanks, Bob.
