I just want a videos gallery

    hello, I’ve installed your plugin and it looks really powerful… but I can’t do what I want, a simple gallery of videos linked to the “att category”. I’d like it to display either thumbnails that open a lightbox or small players directly where I place my shortcode. The features I was looking for when I installed the plugin were:

    • Add categories to videos : OK
    • easily generate a gallery containing all auto-hosted videos linked to a category NOT OK
    • videos to open in a lightbox if the gallery only offers links NOT OK

    I’m totally lost… currently, I have the link of the 4 videos in my gallery but in text form and when you click on it, it leads to the player but without the possibility to easily leave the video and change it… which isn’t great

    Thank you for giving MLA a try and for your question.

    The [mla_gallery] shortcode is modeled after the original WordPress [gallery] shortcode, adding features like more powerful database queries and custom style and markup templates. It works well for images, PDF documents, etc. but does not have any special support for audio or video items.

    There are probably other plugins with more features for video display and viewing, but I haven’t done any research of my own. If you find one you like you may be able to use MLA’s “Support for Other Gallery-generating Shortcodes” to have MLA do the item selection (based on category) and then hand off control to the other plugin to format and process the results. I would be happy to help if there is a specific plugin or theme you’d like to use.
