I installed WPML and problem

  • Hi,

    i used your plugin with success (ok I admint with a minor issue because when connected i was having the option to select both me and the company profile to post on and i wanted just me, and i left only me with a check on, but somehow this is ignored so that the post not only shows up on the company linked in page but it is doubled (i did not find if there is a setting in linked in to publish on the company whatever is showing on the me page)). I was using it to publish just one category of posts all the other being unchecked.

    But now i created a WPML plugin that translates every post. The problem is that the translated to English posts do not follow the rules that are set for the main language (ignore all categories but one when posting) and is posting everything by default right after i hit the command in wpml to translate automaticaly a bunch of new posts.

    what can i do?

    Hi @sorinexu,

    Thanks for raising this issue. We haven’t done any testing with WPML yet, so I can see how what you are saying could be an issue. I would recommend for now manually selecting, unselecting each post you want to share and to not use our ignore category feature. If I get more time in the future, I will look at developing a solution for this; I just have very little resources unfortunately. Thank you,

    Ok, thank you for your answer. I disabled all checkboxes also for don not share and share so that we can trigger the sharing manually for jut the most important news piece of the week.

    However can you look into the previous issue of why sharing one post determines a post one time on my personal profile and two times on my company? (this is happening independent if i select the company profile or not).

    Hi @sorinexu,

    I recommend perhaps deleting all plugin settings which can be done from the FAQ on the plugin settings page (take note of any customisations you have done to the settings before hand). Then re-authenticate again, and then hopefully it will just share to the company once.
