• I tried to install the plugin for retina images but now all my images and thumbnails have disappeared… I am using the S3 plugin to do handle all my images… It has a check box for this retina plugin but that did not help… No retina images are being uploaded and now I have lost all my images and need to go into the database and delete whatever the Retina 2X plugin did… Lame ??

just copied the s3 link that i get from a newly uploaded image into a browser to see if it is resolving…

I get this error back… I think this is my problem but not sure where to go from here…

    <Error>PermanentRedirect

<Message>The bucket you are attempting to access must be addressed using the specified endpoint. Please send all future requests to this endpoint.</Message><RequestId></RequestId>
    <Bucket></Bucket>
    <HostId></HostId>
    <Endpoint></Endpoint>
    </Error>

All the value were filled out but i deleted them for security (end point value seemed correct)

So I noticed that the URL that generates the Error which is the one tied to the images is wrong from where the s3 object actually resides…

Did amazon update their buckets or something? I mean i have been using the same one the whole time…

the url attached to my images is s3.amazonaws.com/ bucket info

The url that the image actually resides at is s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/ bucket info

So some how the -us-west-2 has been injected on the AWS side or it was dropped on my side when i installed that plugin… Bummer… Thanks to any guru that knows whats going on ??

    So random…

I think AWS added that in the URL for sub sections… I have been using the same bucket the whole time no problem but its in the Oregon section…

So i just made a new bucket in Standard US and set that as the target bucket for the plugin and the problem was fixed…

    Very strange…

Is there anyone that knows why this might have happened or what went wrong?

I just don’t want it to ever happen again…

    Thanks!
