Have you checked to make sure you don’t have inherited CSS affecting the text?

nope and the chat box show out Echo is off

What settings are you using for the shortcode?

do you know if you have server functionality like fwrite, fopen, etc available? We use that to store the actual logs of the chat, so that could be a bigger hint of what’s going on.
