    Hello

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently facing an issue with the latest versions of WooCommerce (8.5.2) and WooCommerce Blocks (11.7.0). It seems that I am unable to activate both plugins simultaneously. Upon activating WooCommerce, WooCommerce Blocks gets deactivated automatically.

I understand that WooCommerce Blocks’ functionality is now included by default in WooCommerce starting from version 8.5.2. However, I would like to continue using and making modifications to the standalone WooCommerce Blocks plugin without affecting the core functionality of WooCommerce.

Could you please provide guidance on how I can successfully keep the WooCommerce Blocks plugin active alongside the latest version of WooCommerce (8.5.2) and make customizations to the standalone WooCommerce Blocks plugin?

I appreciate your assistance in resolving this compatibility issue.

    Thank you,

    Hello,

Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate your efforts.

Regarding the customization, I am looking to make specific design and layout adjustments to the blocks provided by the standalone WooCommerce Blocks plugin. These modifications are essential for aligning the appearance of the blocks with the unique design requirements of my website.

I understand that WooCommerce now includes blocks functionality by default, but I would like to retain the standalone WooCommerce Blocks plugin for its customization capabilities. My goal is to keep both WooCommerce (8.5.2) and WooCommerce Blocks (11.7.0) active simultaneously while making personalized adjustments to the standalone Blocks plugin.

If there are any recommended steps or considerations to ensure compatibility and achieve this objective, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hello @bababum95,

Thanks for sharing more details on this.

I understand you would like to use WooCommerce blocks alongside WooCommerce but are having trouble having both activated.

Just to clarify, with the latest version of WooCommerce, the WooCommerce blocks are included by default, therefore rendering the WooCommerce Blocks plugin unusable.

With that said, if you’d like to use the WooCommerce Blocks plugin, you’d need to roll back to older versions (which is not advisable) so that you can be able to use the Blocks plugin.

Just to understand you even better, have you tried customizing your site using the inbuilt block features? Do you face any challenges or is there something missing that was included in the blocks plugin?

Please let us know so that we can help you achieve your desired customizations.

    Cheers.

    Howdy @bababum95,

We do not recommend leaving WooCommerce outdated so you can continue to use the WooCommerce Blocks feature plugin.

We recommend reviewing the WooCommerce?Blocks?Handbook?to understand how to extend?blocks?and the best practices for doing so.

Editing plugin files directly is not good practice. If there are any customizations you’re making which cannot be achieved through the extensibility options we provide, I recommend starting a discussion on GitHub so our developers can explore those potential gaps.
