No steps are needed from plugin developer(s), bundling translation will be counterproductive.

Since WordPress 4.6 bundling translations is strongly discouraged, GlotPress should be used instead.

Its handled by community. Olegas has already imported translations into GlotPress.

PS: You can ask plugin developer to add you as “Plugin support representative”
so you will have orange badge of plugin support rep.
