• I have WP Ban installed and yesterday I saw some suspicious activity via statcounter. I copied/pasted the IP address and banned it. However, I can no longer access MY website anymore. Others have been able to, but I can’t. I get the You Are Banned message. Is there anyway that my IP address can be removed from that ban so that I can log in again?

    Thanks so much!

  • are you the only admin for the site? if you’re not then you could get another admin to un-ban you. otherwise try logging in from a different machine with a different ip address and see if that helps…

What if you go to yoursite.com/wp-admin and try logging in the admin panel to unban yourself? I don’t know if it banned you from the admin panel or not.

it’s banning based on the ip address so the admin login info will still be viable but the ip address of where the admin’s logging in from is what’s causing the issue. trying it from a different machine at a friends house might work…

Thanks everyone for your helpful responses. For some reason, it banned me from even viewing the site, much less accessing wp admin. The odd thing is that it affected my work pc and my daughter’s school pc. I made the ban changes at home. I think it’s solved now. I had left the browser window open to the wp ban page in wp admin at home. I just got home and was able to undo the mistake and can now access wp admin and the website. We couldn’t log in elsewhere because we were still logged in at home.
