• Hello all,

motivated through a friend, I’ve looked into the code a bit and made a few additions. A checkbox to discard the “View on Flickr” link in the slideshow and a checkbox for a type of flowting layout.

The later one is for a better layout on mobile devices. If the screen is wide enough, the number of selected columns are displayed on the screen, if the width of the screen is not wide enough, it will only display the nuber of columns which fit into the screen-width (at least one).

I already created a pull-request for the code changes to ronakg, so he might include my code changes in the future. For the meantime, if someone is interested, you could download the zip-file of the plugin from: https://susanne-jaeckel.de/?page_id=53

Excuse me, that the page is in german, but I think the link for downloading the zip file could be found…

Would be nice if some others find my changes helpfull.

    Best regards,
    Susi.

  • Thanks Susanne for generously sharing this. I will install this and test. The floating layout is a nice addition!

    Hi,

I installed your patch and have found the following bugs:
    – when I “add gallery”, I do not see the additional options (floating layout and view on flickr). I however see those in “default settings”

    – If I set “max photos per page” to 60 in the default settings, it still shows as 10 when I try to add gallery (ie – this value is not passed correctly). I have not tested this pre-patch so I am unable to tell whether it’s your patch that is responsible for this or whether this was native.

Thank you Susanne for sharing this ??

    Susanne,

The good news is that if I set floating layout in the default it actually works for all my galleries! So maybe this is exactly as you designed it. ie – you simply set it in the default and it will apply to all existing galleries?

Anyway, nice to have an elegant solution for small screens!

    Hello xberg, hello stickFinger,

    thanks for your comments! ??

@xberg, it should even work in the add gallery page. I’ll have a look at it, if there’s a mistake…

    Thanks for the information!

    Best regards,
    Susanne.

Thank you very much for your modification of this plugin, however, I have a problem:

The plugin works for me, but as you can see on the screenshot the paragraph after the gallery is stretched out. This happens with the Twenty thirteen theme. If any more information is necessary to fix this bug I’ll gladly provide it.

    Hello aloon,

the error you mentioned should be fixed now. Please test the new version on my page (Version 3).

    Thanks for the report!
    Susi.

Your patched version works great. If the original developer has let it does you should take it over. ??

Or fork it. The warnings about a new version bug me.
