    Hi There,

I am selling a virtual product on my site. My customers get the emails notifying them their order is complete etc. but I get no email saying someone has bought this virtual product. Although there’s no action I need to take like if I was selling a physical product, I would like to be notified when this product has been sold.

I see that the status of these orders go straight to “Complete” and doesn’t register as a new order, so no little red notification shows up beside Woo Commerce > Orders. Is this why I get no email about the order? How do I fix this?

    Thanks,
    Amy

    Hi Amy,

I just tested this out on my site, and I can confirm that even if an order is Virtual+Downloadable, the site admin should still get an email about the order.

First, you’ll want to see if the emails are being correctly **generated**, as this is the job of WooCommerce. You can do this by installing a plugin like WP Mail Logging, and placing a test order.

Next, check the mail log. If the emails are being generated, there’s a good chance that the site’s server is blocking them from being sent. In this case, you’ll want to look into a dedicated SMTP provider.

If the emails aren’t being generated, most likely, something is conflicting with WooCommerce. This guide will show you how to check for conflicts.

Let us know how it goes!

    Best,

    Ross
