i get clicks on pretty links that arent even displayed on my blog

    Do pretty links somehow in search listings,regardless of whether they are displayed on blog. I cant understand how i get traffic on links that arent displayed on my blog.

    if its true that pretty links can actually get clicks, kind of on their own (perhaps you can explain how this happens), then im thinking maybe i should maximize taxonomy for each link as maybe its somehow bringing in traffic, regardless of blog?

    Appreciate you shedding some light on this phenomon

    Hi @peacepilgrim,

    Thank you for reaching out. If your pretty links have been crawled by a search engine in the past, then it’s possible that it could be accessible within the search results even though it’s no longer displayed on your blog.

    You could add a “Disallow” rule to your sitemap and exclude all of your pretty links, or if your pretty links have a slug prefix such as “recommends” then you could specify that URI and it should prevent search engines from crawling any pretty link that contains the slug prefix.
