    Hi,

I was trying to figure out why I kept getting asked to install Java.

After trying things then just looking at the log of the files, I see it is coming from your plugin or a scripts processed by your plugin from my site. This is local testing.

Here is a screenshot of that
    @ https://take.ms/ztUWj

    What do you think?
    – Is this coming from script reporting to view the log or from the something else? I think it is the settings page reporting area after the cron because when the site doesn’t break and the scripts are accessible via the browser, but this also seems to happen in a delayed manner, like after the cron.

When the processing log first appears it shows fine the a few moments after they appear as an error, then the java install message.

Also, I think it needs to load after Zencache?

Sometimes I see Merge Minify Refresh compile Zencache’s admin bar styles and js, but Zencache is supposed to be the last thing to load on the site… so should that be? Zencache’s admin bar is just a copy of the WordPress admin bar, so it shouldn’t be a merged, minified public script and style. So that is why I ask.

MMR uses Google Closure to compile the javascript and Closure is Java. That is why it will be asking you to install Java. It should however detect that java isn’t available and use PHP to minify the javascript.

I haven’t tried Zencache but I’ll give it a go and let you know.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Okay, well it doesn’t fallback for me. Sorry, I had deactivate it because of the Java issue. It just comes up too much. And I also installed Java during that time and I still got the message. Java didn’t say I needed to restart my computer after reinstall, but I’m guessing that is why I kept getting the message on iMac.

Hmm, I’m guessing it has something to do with your configuration. How have you setup Apache/PHP? Did you manually install it or are you using something like MAMP?

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back!

I’m using MAMP Pro, regular install, nothing special.
    – Latest php version available to MAMP which is 5.6.10.

If you can ask a more specific question related to my set up then I can offer a better answer perhaps. I know my way around it a bit.

I haven’t tested it with MAMP. I’ll give it a go and see if I can come up with a solution.

I’m closing this as it is very old. Please start a new thread if this issue is still a problem.
