• Hi,

So right now I have about 40 posts in my blog split amongst two post types: posts and reviews. When Adding an image to a slider, I always add a Read more button to them.

When you want that button to link to a post, you have a dropdown list that shows all the post titles preceeded by curly brackets that show the post type they belong to.

    For example:
    {post} I Can’t Believe This Is Awesome
    {review} This Product Really Sucks

The post types are sorted in alphabetical order, then by publish date. This is fine for a small number of posts.

But let’s look into the future…..

I now have several thousands posts. If I wanted to link an image to my latest review, I’d have to scroll for AGES to find it. There is no search bar that I could use to bring up the post quickly.

I would therefore suggest adding a search bar to find posts much more easily OR add an option that will sort the dropdown list by Date regardless of post type so that latets post will always appear on top.

    Thanks.

To make matters even more pressing, you can only see the last 100 posts, which means that if I want to feature an older post, I’m SOL too.

Sometimes, it’s nice to showcase an older post if it makes sense in a world context. Not like we can manually add a URL to the image either (which would be a nice feature to add too!).

It would be fun to add an image to a slider that links OUTSIDE the blog sometimes.

There’s a snippet to set the slider link to any URL you like. But it’s a bit of a hassle, if you aren’t already using a child theme with a functions.php (or if others are using the site, not just you).
