Hi, I don’t know why, but really often I need to reactivate google account associated with google analytics, search console, etc.
Fortunately, even if I need to do this, while it is deactivated, the plugin still show the GA code, so I don’t loose statistics, but it is frustrating.

Thanks for getting in touch, and yes, I can image that is frustration. As you’re being continuously asked to reconnect if you’d like to share the following we have hopefully determine the cause:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Do you have a large number of sites which you have Site Kit connected on?

Once we know the above we’ll be able to investigate this further. There my be plugins that are changing your WordPress constants, resulting in the connection to the Site Kit service being lost, or it may be a case of you’re reaching the OAuth connection limit.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I just sent site health information from one of the sites, and yes, they are many (about 30), all different on configuration and hosting, all of them connected to the same google account.

    Thanks in advance

Many thanks for sharing the additional insights. While nothing obvious stands out from inspecting your setup there is an OAuth limitation of 50 connected sites at once. If you were to connect site a new site after 50 then you’d be requested to reconnect your oldest connected site.

So we can determine more on in this your case please let me know the following:

    1. Is it possible you have some testing or staging sites where you may have Site Kit setup on, which would increase the total number of sites connected?
    2. When you’re asked to re-connected do you find this is during regular intervals (ie. one every week) or is this at random?
    3. Does this happen on one site or multiple sites

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    (@seoergoweb)

    Hi, thanks for explanation.
    1. No, I’m pretty sure google site kit is not activated on testing/staging site.
    2. Random I would say.
    3. Multiple sites, I would say I had to reconnect all of them at least twice or more in the the last 3-4 months.

Thanks for the update. If this is occurring on multiple sites I suspect you may be reaching the OAuth limit, which does result in the one site becoming disconnected upon each new Site Kit connected site. The site that becomes disconnected I believe is the one which has been the longest connected. While I check this with the team can you check on the “Manage Sites” option within Site Kit and check the amount of sites you have connected?

Based on your support topic I’ve also created the below GitHub issue:

    I have 34 sites connected,
thank you for your quick support, I really appreciate this!

Thanks for the update. With 34 sites active this alone shouldn’t be resulting in sites being disconnected however I’ll need to check this with the team and report back to you here if that’s ok? It may be early next week before I have an update.

In the meantime if you encounter any site that has become disconnected feel free to share any debug log files or any additional insights on that particular site. If you’re using a different collection of plugins, in particular any Salt Shaker or security plugin on the sites that being disconnected let me know.

hi, if it can be be useful, I found other sites disconnected,
    smarteus.it
    ingegneregarra.it
    energiesostenibilisrl.net

I’ll keep them disconnected for now, waiting for instructions from you for what you need for debugging.

    Hi there @seoergoweb,

Apologies for the delay and appreciate the update. We had your support topic on the agenda for a team discussion this week however I’ll have to wait a bit longer before discussing your case. Unfortunately we didn’t get an opportunity to get to this topic with the other items of discussion.

We’ll keep you updated here as soon as we have an update.

@seoergoweb thank you for your patience while the team has been discussing this.

Can I please confirm if you have connected multiple WordPress accounts using the same Google account within any of those sites?

Currently if a user has two WordPress accounts using the same Google account, then that would use two refresh tokens. So this could be a case that the number of connections is being hit as it is calculated by the connections and not the number of sites connected.

    Hi Adam,
if you are referring to the wordpress account on wordpress.com, almost all of them are not connected. If we talk about local permissions, all sites have only one administrator (me), and the other roles (mostly editors) don’t even have access to the Google Site kit plugin.

    Plugin Support Adam Dunnage

    (@adamdunnage)

@seoergoweb I am referring to the local WordPress accounts so thank you for clarifying that you are the only administrator on these sites.

When was the last time you experienced being disconnected by Site Kit? Was it recent or has it remained connected for a while now?

    Thread Starter seoergoweb

    (@seoergoweb)

these three mentioned above are the most recent that I have seen disconnected. I proceed to reactivate them and let you know if I will see others in the future.

@seoergoweb We will continue to investigate and yes if you could let us know when another disconnects next that would be helpful.

I found right by now my site disconnected. https://www.seoergoweb.com
