• My partner got her site made on Elementor. Two weeks later, some pictures started appearing at weird places and replaced by placeholders. Nobody had even touched their site!

I am an experienced WP developer, having done several themes from scratch for clients. Now I started working for a new site that was already built on Elementor, so I was forced to continue with it. It’s been a nightmare! Stuff keeps jumping around, changing colors from one day to the next, and generally working differently on the preview than on the deployed site. Everything is so cumbersome to use; things that I would’ve solved with few lines of code become day after day of wrangling all the settings.

There were loads of plugins installed on their site just to patch things that Elementor was not doing right, and as a newcomer to the site I have no idea what each plugin is for and whether it’s safe to deactivate. The site is going so slow and there is an insane amount of settings whose effect on the site are difficult to figure.

If I had told my client that I want to create their template from scratch instead of using Elementor, it would’ve been already cheaper, faster and the result would’ve been better quality and easier to use. When you get on with using Tormentor, you’re going to find yourself installing plugin after plugin, changing settings that are super hidden, and will bite back to you months later when you’ve forgotten about them.

You can edit stuff like index pages and have dynamic data, which seems impressive at first. But very soon you find out that the dynamic content is very limited, and you will find that often, it will be necessary to update content manually, which would’ve not been with a programmed theme.

Do not install this! hire a developer or get a good theme instead.
