I don’t know what this feature is called

    And since I don’t know what it’s called, I don’t know what to search for either. Please forgive me if this is not the correct forum in which I should post. I tried searching for various terms, none of which were relevant to the feature I’m seeking out.

    It’s like a pop-up window that darkens the page that the link is on, much like the dashboard feature of a Mac. If you are in the Admin panel of WP, you’ll see this feature when you add custom text to the sidebar. I also ran across it while checking out the cforms plugin, on the plugin page, where the author has included screenshots of the plugin in action. What is that called? Is there a plugin or theme that enables you to author content like this? Can a form be placed in this pop-up?

  • From the way you describe it sounds like Lightbox. Have a look at the link and see if that is what you want.

    Thank you so very much, that is it. I’m sure now that I know what it is called, I can find information on how to make it display a form instead of a picture.

    I guess the WP system uses similar code to do the form to add custom text to the sidebar?
