• Hey,

For various reasons, I decided to temporarily change the wordpress address (URL) from the settings panel. I must have typed in the new url wrong or typed in “www” when I shouldn’t have for as soon as I hit save, I got a “Server not found” error. I can get back to the login (which now appears un-styled) but I get the same message when I submit user name/password.

How do I correct the mistake without the ability to log in?

    Thanks for any help!

    Sam

  • Can you access Cpanel on your server?
    What was the old URL?
Do you still have FTP access?
Do you know your site’s IP address?
    Do you use PHPMyAdmin?

Are you sure your server isn’t down?

Different ways to fix this depending on how you can access stuff.

Sundae, Sunday, Sun day, Son day, Sun delay?

    Hi Ripose,

The old url was the https://www.marneemeyer.com

I still have ftp and can get into phpmyadmin from the control panel. I only have limited experience getting in through there. Not sure what the ip address is, actually. I could look up if you think that will help.

    thanks,

    IP address is 66.96.131.47

I changed it to https://www.marneem.ipower.com but should have left off the “www”

Sam, did you perform database backup recently? If so, by running it through phpmyadmin you can restore everything in no time.

I just installed wordpress yesterday. There’s almost nothing in there…do you think starting over is the best way?

sure, you have nothing to lose. Just to make sure, delete all files and install a fresh WP. Get a new database as well.

    Everything will be fine.
