• Hi, I am Watchers.

I have made an account in geni.us because its geo-localization feature is fantastic, and that’s what I needed for my Amazon affiliate.

I have also installed the Amazon Link Engine plugin in my wordpress.

After doing everything, you guys provide me with a short link (which looks something like this): https://geni.us/xxxx.

I tried to copy and paste this link in my WordPress blog post.

I was expecting that the link I copied (https://geni.us/xxxx) will be embedded in my WordPress blog post and show an Image and title or price of that link.

But WordPress embed feature is not able to embed the https://geni.us/xxxx link.(I am using Gutenberg editor, which has an embed block)

Please tell me if there is any other method to use https://geni.us/xxxx in my WordPress blog post, which shows image and title or something like that.

I am looking for a swift reply.

Thanks in advance. I know there is a solution to it. (I might be doing it entirely in the wrong way.)

    What should I do now?

  • Hi @watchersblog02,

Yes, you are going wrong. This link can’t be embedded.

For a reference, you can visit this post – Lisa Gardner Books in Order

We have added many geni.us links in this post. You will get a good idea.

Some are direct outbound links and some are links used for images.

    Hi there!

Apologies for the slow response on this thread! This was all taken care of via our support channel but I forgot to follow up here as well to close the loop and provide some additional information.

Anyway, as @okravi mentioned above, we do not currently have an embeddable feature as suggested above. Our Amazon Link Engine plugin will automatically convert any raw Amazon links that are on your site into localized links, and will ensure they are affiliated, but we do not currently have a way to display product data just by pasting in a link. Additionally the Amazon Link Engine plugin is actually a separate tool from our manually build geni.us short links from inside of the dashboard. These will both create localized affiliate links, but the ALE is really designed to just convert all of the Amazon links to localized links as soon as the page loads.

That all being said, if you are looking for a good tool that will allow you to create product displays for these links, as well as take advantage of our localization / Affiliation, I would suggest checking out the AAWP plugin (https://geniuslink.com/blog/amazon-affiliate-wordpress-plugin/), or AmaLinks Pro (https://geniuslink.com/blog/amalinks-pro-wordpress-plugin-for-amazon-affiliates/). Both of these will allow you to create displays for your links, and can be paired with our ALE plugin to ensure the links are properly localized and affiliated.

    Cheers,
    Team Geniuslink
