I deleted the config php file BIG MISTAKE!

  • Hi, I wanted to change something in mij ‘config php’ file instead deleted it now I have no acces to my website cant even log in to my account! Its like it doesn’t exist anymore!! I did make a back up of my website but seeing that I cant log in anymore I just don’t know what to do. Hope anyone can help. Thanks

    If you have a backup, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and upload the backed up wp-config.php file to the same directory as the wp-login.php file.

    Hi thank you for the quick reply. I’m sorry but I’m not familiar with al these terms. I cant find an Filemanager on my hostings account control panel. (Digitalocean) Could you please explain how I can access the server via SFTP or FTP?

    You’ll need to consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on those, it’s different for all hosting providers.
