I created a new theme for my website using Expound will it update with expound

    Well let me tell you what I did exactly.

    I was interested to protect my webstie theme from any kind of update which was using Expound as a theme. I was not interested to creat a child theme. Hence, I installed expound theme, added some pages & done some settings and then Using control panel of my website I zipped it.

    Donwloaded to computer and unzipped. then I changed the file style.css with my information, zipped it & uploaded to my website.

    Now wordpess recognize it as a new theme, eveything is ok.

    But my worry is, if there is any possibility that will update my theme. As I belive i have updated style.css so it is a new them.

    Can sombody help me on this.

    yes ESMI, I have applied all the logic that is used for child theme, but did not created a child theme, insted modified it as a new one & uploaded.

    Then you won’t get any updates for your theme. It’s best to use an actual child theme so that you can benefit from updates while keeping your changes to the theme. Updates can include security fixes too.

    thanks a lot for the inforamtion. Well I am thinking all the dimensions of child theme and may be following child only. thanks a lot.
