• Hi.
I have been trying to upload one image.
    It’s 2000px x 1000px.
No matter what format I changed it to, it fails to show.
I have tried uploading other images and they worked out fine.
Please help me with this issue.
    Thanks!

  • How big is the image file, and what is your php upload limit set at?

    It’s 649 kb.
Where can I check the php upload limit?
    Thanks!

Where can I check the php upload limit?

It shows up in the upload media dialog in your dashboard – but the default php limit is usually 2M, so that probably isn’t going to be the issue.

If it only happens with just that one image, my guess would be an image corruption of some type. Check your source image in a different editing program and see if the result is any different. Just out of curiosity, what is the original image format, and what editor are you using to export it to different formats?

I made it with Illustrator and exported it as a jpg.
But I have tried photoshopping it into a png too.
    It didn’t work.

Are you able to open and view the .jpg or the .png file in any other image viewer or editor that is not of the Adobe family?

I opened it with paint and window photo viewer with no problem.

    I am mystified.

    A) Are you getting any error messages at all during/after upload, and if not

    B) Do you see anything at all in your media library after it’s uploaded? A broken image indicator, a blank place holder, the image info (title, file name) but no image, etc..?

    Thanks for your help.
Every time I upload it, it appears like this.

    20%-Off1-1024x512.jpg

Try removing the percent sign from the file name and see if that makes any difference.

I saved it as a new file on Illustrator and opened it with Photoshop.
I saved it as another new jpg.
    Now it works!!!!
    Thanks for your help!!!!

You’re welcome! Glad it worked! In a nutshell, it might be best to avoid special characters in file names whenever possible.

You may also want to not include any special characters such as all of these:

    ~!@#$%^&*()+=\|{}[];:'”<>,.?/`

    and even spaces.

file_name (underscores) and another-file (hyphens) seem to always work.
