    Hi!

First of all, when I send a test mail, there is no problem when I use the plugin. But I don′t recieve any messages whan I have made a new post, or comment, even though I have made the settings in an appropriate way in the new notifications.
As a result I have tried the WP Mail SMTP plugin, and tested several different SMTP-servers, for example smtp.gmail.com, smtp.live.com and smtp.bredband.net, but it still not working.

So how can I solve this problem?

    Regards!
    Ola J.

    Hi @olajordan,
    Thanks for your message.

I recommend Post SMTP / Email Log as an SMTP plugin as it will show you what emails have been sent. Can you also look at this support document to see if it helps you? https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/getting-started/how-to-improve-email-delivery/

    Thanks,

    Hi again!

I could solve most of the problems by installing the plugin Easy WP SMTP and to use the e-mail-configuration from my web host. So now the plugin send mail-notifications when there is a new comment and a new post, but still there is no message when I make a new “User Post Gallery”-post, although there is no problem when I send a test-mail from that notification. Is it possible to solve that problem also in another way?

    Regards!

    Hi @olajordan,

How is the ‘User Post Gallery’ custom post type being added? Is it via a plugin? If so, which one?

Are you submitting posts for this post type using the WP Admin or a front-end form?

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi,

It′s a plugin: User Post Gallery – UPG.
The posts are submitted as a front-end form.

When I am in the Dashboard and edit the notifications for Better Notifications for WordPress, there are alternatives also for the User Post Gallery-plugin (for example new post and comment). But none of them seems to work.

    Hi @olajordan,

Please can you look at this support document on adding support for plugins with front-end forms and then test all the notifications you can see for the plugin to see which one works? https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/compatibility/support-plugins-front-end-forms/

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi again!
When I used the code add_filter( ‘bnfw_trigger_insert_post’, ‘__return_true’ ); the problem was solved. Everything works great now.
    Thanks!
    Best regards!
