I can't seem to get the right Api Key

When I get a Flickr Api Key through the link in the plugin (https://www.flickr.com/services/api/keys/) it won’t work. I keep on getting this message: “Invalid values, the settings have not been updated
API Key is not valid”
When I use the Api Key that is displayed through this link https://www.flickr.com/services/api/explore/flickr.test.echo
then it does work but only for a short time.
Do you have any idea how to fix this problem. Because I really like to use this plugin. The short time it does work it looks great.
