I can’t seem find an answer on using tag already created before adding plugin

    When I create a group and go back to “Tags”, the tags I made before installing your app are all gone. When i delete the group and go back to “Tags” they’re all there again. Is there a way to use the tags I’ve already made before installing your plugin, with a group I created in your plugin? So that I don’t have to recreate 30 tags again inside your plugin? Thank you.

  • Where exactly are they gone? If they disappear from the list of tags in the admin backend, could you please check if the filter on top of the list shows “not assigned” tags? (Or just try all filter options.) The reason could be that all previous tags are “filtered away”.

    Tried that. I have no idea. I go in and create 1 group tag. Then when I click on the tags link above Tag Group Admin, they’re gone. I’ve checked all the filters as well. I assumed there was maybe a button that allows pre-created tags, to get moved over into the plugin. Because I just naturally assumed all tags would automatically show up in the list.NOt sure. Seems like the only option is to recreate all of the tags again but that’s a lot of work.

    All previously tags should be visible, if the filter is turned off. There is no need to move them into the plugin. They should also be available when writing posts and they should appear with posts on the front end and in tag clouds. That is the standard behavior with the default WordPress installation.

    You tried it with all other plugins deactivated? If tags totally disappear, it sounds like another plugin or theme is doing something.

    I figured it out. Before you create a group, you have to click Assign To > Not assigned > Filter Off and click apply.

    Before I had Bulk Actions > Not Assigned > Filter Off but never Applied and never had Assigned To Applied. It works now. All my tags can be grouped.
